ed kriskywicz

starting his professional career in 1984 with caleb luibrand, architects in beulah, michigan, ed could not have been more thankful for a position working under his mentor that disciplined him in a direction that would guide his entire career.

design, theory, communication and a bit of business sense are all items absorbed from that experience. it was a life changing moment. leaving the firm after six years felt more like 'losing a part of my family,' ed recalls.

however, in 1991 and the need to grow ed expanded his horizons, creating his own residential design firm.

you will find ed at the drafting board on a daily basis designing a new project, drafting a set of construction drawings or at the job site assisting the contractor. ed along the way has obtained his residential builders license in the state of michigan - adding greater knowledge of the entire construction process and also in hopes to create a more detailed and useful set of documents.

personally he has three children, kaitlin, steven and jackie. ed's wife, bev, also helps out with cdi's tasks. summers are spent on their boat at the local municipal marina, winters they would like to view the michigan snow from south carolina, but the practice keeps them home most of the season. ed enjoys playing ice hockey, running and boating - just being outdoors.

ed professional belongs to several groups and community organizations:

  • dda member (downtown development authority), city of manistee, mi
  • hba (home builder's association of grand traverse county)
  • jaycee (retired jaycee member) and community development vp director
  • gllca (member of the great lakes log crafters association)
  • member of the national trust for historic preservation
